Dawnguard is the first official game add-on for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim® – the 2011 Game of the Year. The Vampire Lord Harkon has returned to power. By using the Elder Scrolls, he seeks to do the unthinkable – to end the sun itself. Will you join the ancient order of the Dawnguard and stop him? Or will you become a Vampire Lord yourself? Installation Notes :-
1. Download DLC and patch 1.7 (and update 9 too if your game isn't already updated).
2. [Only needed if not updated to update 9 already] Unpack the update and copy to Skyrim folder replacing files.
3. Unpack patch and copy file to Skyrim folder, replacing files.
4. Unpack Dawnguard and copy the two files to the Data folder in the Skyrim folder.
5. Go to My Games/Skyrim folder in (My) Documents and find SkyrimPrefs.ini
6. Add this line bEnableFileSelection=1 under "[LAUNCHER]" in the file.
7. Launch the game via the launcher.
8. Click on Data Files, enable "Dawnguard" (tick it) and press OK.
9. Run the game.
10. To activate the DLC in-game, you might need to talk to any generic Skyrim guard in order to get the Dawnguard quest, though for many a guard will automatically come up and speak to you about it.
